Bryan Stevenson's Equal Justice Initiative traces the roots of modern racial inequality to a forgotten chapter in American history: the lynchings of over 4,000 African-Americans between the end of the Civil War and the 1950s. We worked with his organization and Google to explore the scale and impact of these lynchings through a site experience and an installation at the Brooklyn Museum and EJI's own Legacy Museum in Montgomery, AL.
